High-quality cultured pearls, with thick layers of nacre, can last for generations if treated properly.

Pearls are always strung with pure silk threads, with knots between each pearl. Over time, the silk may give way or weaken, so if they are used regularly, it is advisable to have them restrung once a year.

They should always be stored separately from other pieces to prevent them from being scratched.
